アメリカ人は言い訳が得意というのはよく言われることだけど、株式公開（しかもNasdaqではなくNYSE）している製薬企業のCEOが、プレスリリースでこんなことを言ってのけるっていうのはいくら何でも限度を超えている。おなじみ（？）Derekが、読者のコメントをもとに取り上げたニュースなんだけど、株価の下落に動揺してこんなコメント出したのだとしたら、言い訳の上手下手以前の問題です。翻訳に責任は持てませんが、どんな話かというと・・・On Tuesday, the Rockville company reported the drug performed well in a phase 2a clinical trial for treating patients with one such ailment: major depressive disorder. That apparently did the trick — at least somewhat. By the end of trading on Wednesday, the price had rebounded to $2.15.
