can't for the life of me ～＝どうしても～できない。I can't for the life of me remember the steps that we agreed to take in the last meeting...うろ覚えですがこんな文のメールを同僚のインド人から貰ったので備忘録。「I can't for the life of me remember」という形で使われることが最も多そうである。
